A friend has a Dell Vostro 1720 laptop running Windows 7 Professional.\n\nWhen he uses it in a hotel in the UK, he can connect to the hotel's WiFi\nsystem perfectly OK. He's used several hotels in the UK.\n\nHowever, when he goes to Spain, and tries to use it in a bar, although\nthe laptop shows the bar's Wifi SSID, when he asks to connect it does\nnot ask for the security key, it simply fails. He hasn't been in many\nbars in Spain, but the few he's used in the Mijas area all fail the same\nway. He's been able to connect to the bar's router using an ethernet\ncable quite OK.\n\nAny ideas? Is there something different about WiFi systems in Spain?\n\nOr is it simply that Spanish WiFi systems are old and not compatible\nwith Windows 7 ???
