    I am fairly new to programming. I do know HTML. I'd like to get into XHTML. I aslo have some experience with Visual Basic. I am going to refresh in VB, but I'd like to take up another language.

    What should it be? C, C++, .NET? I am looking for something that will benefit me in the computer/networking industry... Any suggestions are welcome...

    C, C++, Java...

    But for you - I'd recommend either PHP, ASP or XHTML atm - you need something to help you get started - and the best thing to do is continue building up your knowledge about the programming languages that coiside with the ones you have already learned..

    I need to get a book then (obviously), I'll probably try XHTML, I was reading up on that, and it seems pretty basic, and delvs into XML sort of which is apart of .NET.

    I started a program in VB that I never finished, it's a calculator. I couldn't figure out how to assign the buttons to do the multiplaction. I'll work on that and see how it goes.

    the w3 consortium (authors of w3schools.com) are the guys that actually tell you what HTML works and doesn't and advises stuff to the browser software companies to put in thier browser.

    I'm at www.w3schools.com right now. I'm taking their tutorials on XHTML. This isn't too bad. I actually like how XHTML works. :)
