I'm trying to create a home page that has various links to various sites,
    which is all fairly easy.

My problem comes in here, I want to create a text box allowing people to
enter a topic to search for that will copy that topic into google and bring
up the results as well as allowing them to chose whether to search just
sites from Australia or the Web in total (Kind of like what
www.google.com.au looks like) although I'm not to certain of the coding.

I can get the basic entering of data into the text box and retrieving the
information but can't seem to work out how to chose between just pages from
    Australia or the whole web..

    Any suggestions or ideas?

    Thanks

why not just have a link to google and let it go at that - you could
be running into copyright issues if you display a search result from
their system in your web page without their prior approval.

Further to my previous post you may wnat to run the google search
page within a frame or pop-up window on your own page so that you
can still keep your page in front og the person whilst the google
search is happening and being used.
