I recently installed SP2, and noticed the bar on the startup screen is blue, however, I liked it better green. Now that its installed, however, I (theoretically) know how to change it back using BootXP. That is not the problem. The problem is, I don't have the picture file for the green bar as it has been replaced by the new blue one. Can someone tell me where I can get this file online?

    Thanks in advance,

    Eric

Are you talking about the Silver theme for Windows XP? If so, you can change it in the Display properties.

No, Im talking about the little green bar that goes sliding across the screen when you first turn it on. You know, the screen says Windows XP Home Edition (or Professional Edition, whichever you have). On my comp, it was green, but its blue once you update XP Home to SP2, and I was wondering how to change it back.

DO NOT mess with boot screens if you don't know what you are doing. if you mess up, your computer may never start up again properly and you will be forced to reformat.

    Is this a joke?
Just look away whilst it boots up if it bothers you that much!

Oh I see now. Pro is blue. SP2 changes the color to blue and takes away the additon as well. I would not play around with the boot screen. It is possible to hack it, but I wouldn't risk it for just a color.

    http://themexp.org has some tools.

Also on the SP2 upgrade the splash screen just says Windows XP now, not Windows XP Pro/Home.

wow man common, just dont mess around with this. This is a apart of the windows xp sp2 update. I tried using the wincustomize.com boot screens, but i only messed up every once in a while and it is just a waste of spce. How can a boot screen bother you?

hey, some people like to customize their computers to how they want them, and as long as they don't break any laws, there's nothing wrong with it
