If I could live with the poorly contrived scheme's from older Superman movies (like sinking California to make ocean front property in Arizona ala Superman 1). I think I can deal with that.
I just can't believe that the writers and directors of every Superman movie can't make Lex even close to the Smallville Lex... Come on another hairbrained property scheme, please stop! My mother make scarier stuff to eat!
But the cinimatics and the side stories fleshed Supes out better than other movies. That's what made it good. He seems more plausable.

I bought the movie 2 weeks ago and still haven't watched it. I want to read the spoilers sooo bad.

I just had an idea. I'll make my entire post a spoiler. Maybe that will cure the urge.

    *Edit - Nope it didn't.

I didn't even know it was already out.

Does this mean it'll be out on dvd soon?

I finally got around to watching. Good movie, but I also agree with Crimson's spiler tag. You can ask my mother, she'll agree.

It was alright. Thought they could've used Spacey better than they did.

Spacey made a great Lex. Unfortunately, the writers don't. They seriously need to go look at Smallville. That's the Lex from the comics and a much more interesting character. He's evil and cunning (and a controlled megalomaniac), not money grubbing (he's got plenty of money). He want's power and he only will carry out a plan that will benefit him no matter what happens or he will set it up so he can't be connected to it in the first place.

That's why he lasted so long in the comics. 90% of the Lex stories in the comics ended with Supes and Lex eyeing each other because Lex's plan failed but Supes couldn't tie him to it (and therefore can't deliver him to the cops). Which meant Superman didn't touch him (morals and all).

EDIT: This is not entirely correct. In the 1980's, DC used the "Crisis on Infinite Worlds" storyarc to revamp characters from Bronze, Silver & Gold age comics. Lex originally was an evil scientist (Bronze Age) and kinda flowed like the generic evil scientist, and later became the generic "evil" bad guy (Silver Age). He was still smart about his actions though and didn't do obviously dumb moves (Movies).
