and all of these are free too:

    Microsoft Security Essentials
    AntiVir Free
    Avast Home Edition
    Panda Cloud Antivirus
    PC Tools Antivirus Free

any reason in particular why you want to change from Avast ? I've been using it for years without a problem.

Avira is pretty good for a freebie. :)

I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 myself though, it's quite cheap and does the job well.

My vote goes to avast 5.0 free edition
    Avira lacks network security,
Nod 32 is best of all if u r buying it....
where as kaspersky is a lil bit annoyed by sum virus(personal exp) and failed to heal infection

I am also using a McAfee antivirus. I think it is proper enough for your viruses. According to me there is no antivirus which can protect your pc fully. The partition which is having windows or operating system files is the main place for viruses and this is difficult for the antiviruses.

I think Microsoft Security Essentials is damn good..you don't need any additional anti virus with that....also bit defender is part of Mirosoft security....
