My in-laws gave us their old cd player with built-in 5-disc changer. Usually my wife listens to cds on the dvd player, using the TV to playback the audio. We're not huge audio buffs so we don't have "real" speakers. I was wondering if I can just hook up PC speakers into it (all it has is 2 RCA outs) and that'll suffice for my wife's music listening needs. But I'm not sure whether that's doable...would that just burn the speakers?

I know nicer speakers aren't that expensive either, I'd just rather not spend the money if it isn't necessary since we're not picky about this stuff.

IF it has 2 RCA outs, then you could probably get an RCA to mini adapter for PC speakers. You could probably get one in any electronics store....ebay might be the cheapest solution though.
