Smartphones open to SMS Hacking

    It's a bit creepy to read that the current generation of smartphones are vulnerable to specially crafted SMS messages. I remember that it was possible to crash (frozen until manually reset) some old Nokia phones by sending certain characters via text, so I guess things like this have been possible for a while:

    If "experts" say hackers could create apps to exploit the vulnerability in 2 weeks, I'm guessing they'll be able to do it in one.

    Yeah, I agree - there will be people working like mad on this now as it's a big challenge.

    I've just noticed that iTunes has an update for all iPhones now, so might be worth a go if anyone here is using one.
