I know how to set one portion of a video shot in "slow motion" to be
    slow motion.

Is there a way to set multiple portions of a single video to be in slow
motion with the rest in normal motion ?

From a movie file point of view, how do apps like VLC or Adobe Premiere
etc see such files with variable frame rates ?

If I open a slo motion .mov file imported via Preview (which just moves
the file around) it appears to be a 120fps movie without any slow motion
    areas.

Just curious on how the iPhone encodes the movie to have only a portion
of file play are different rate.
