I used Siri often when I had my 4s. I don't recall having many problems
other than connection issues once in a blue moon. Now, with my 6 plus,
I'm discovering Siri to be just about useless. One example is asking her
to contact a local restaurant in my area and she continued to give me
locations in California (I'm in Michigan). Other times she explains I
cannot provide your request, please try again later.

Anyone else having problems with using Siri? I'm trying to determine if
it's my phone or perhaps an upgrade issue.

Siri wants to come home to Sunny California. She isn't having fun in
    that Michigan Winter.
My biggest issue is Siri responding to sounds in the room when the
iPhone is plugged in and charging.

I've had no problems with my 6 with IOS 8 other than when she responds
to the TV when the iPhone is near it. She generally says something
    like " I didn't get that" and I haven't even accessed her.

Right. I should have added while recharging.

Only really with using it for voice navigation.

Quite a bit of the time it works very well as it
did this morning on the garage/yard sale run.

At other times its completely useless, most
obviously when I tell it to Go to Waugh St
and it keeps telling me that it can't navigate
me to Wall St on the other side of the world.

Its too stupid to look for other similar sounding
names in the same town I am currently in even
when I tell it that I don’t want Wall St.

And when I say Call Glenn mobile it works fine
but when I say Call Glenn it just shows his contact
details on the screen, even tho there is just one
number for him in my contacts.
It appears to be them changing how Siri works from time to time.

I also read Apple began using a different person for the voice of Siri
which provides that hint they are constantly changing it's function.

I'm waiting for some TV add to include the line "OK Siri" followed with
    instructions to buy their product.

I've had a couple "can't do that right now" replies over the past 3
weeks since iOS 8 and new iPhone.

Also a couple misfires on info ending up with a meaningless list of
    links to web pages.

Asking for place names here is not a great cause. Siri cannot handle
town names like Outremont, Rosemont, etc. Never mind restaurants.

For example, "Directions to Rosemont" is correctly read by Siri, but
instead of location the town, you get a list of businesses with "rose"
    as part of the name.

Exception, if I use an "English" pronunciation, then I get Rosemont, CA
    rather than the Montreal district.

If I append "Quebec" then Siri never stops listening....

Indeed, the iPhone behaved bizarrely during these tests. Suddenly going
to the lockscreen, refusing touchID, forcing code entry and NOT
    accepting it.

    As to Outremont - fageddaboutit.

One reply (find restaurant "Lune d'Asie" resulted in "Sorry, I can't
    look for restaurants in Namibia").

But for calling from the car using a bluetooth headset, not so bad - as
long as the person I'm calling doesn't have a French name. Though if I
use a mangled English pronunciation, it might work.

"'duck, why did you chamber a round? 'duck? 'duck? Really, there's
no need to do that 'duck. Put it down 'duck. We can discuss this."
