As header, a friends computer seems to have a virus. OS is winXP.
Booting up gets the error message <isass.exe - application error - the
application failed to inialize properly ( 0xc000000005). Terminating
freezes the system and around and around.
I have googled sasser but nothing seems to offer a solution of how to
get out of the loop. Is a clean reinstall the only option? Are there any
cleaners that will work from bootup?
    Thanks
    Paul.

try SAVCLI32 which is a bootable CD from SOPHOS. I would have thought it
would cover sasser but I haven't used it since about June.

you need to download 2 zips which are listed. One for the app and one
    for the ides.
