do you mean what is infront of the car, as if you were driving it, or as we are seeing it?

the driver of the car would see an astronaught, and as we see it, it's just a rock, or boulder thing,
the lighting is good though as well

lol, i love all of yours. Very good. And Spike, your first one in my opinion would make a pretty cool taskbar type thing and button. If it were used as a menu botton or something. Preety good for a first timer.

Im not very experienced...I get my progs from my friend who works for Activision. He uses progs like this daily, so he always cretiqued my work....which means he always said "sucks".

But heres the only one i could dig up. Took about 45 minutes. 15 minutes to draw the bear, and 5 to scan and edit. --then 45 to make the rest--

Yes, I am very aware it looks like a monkey! And I understand on some computers its hard to make out SNUGGLEZ in the background.

I have created almost all of my avatars, including the current one I have now. I mostly use Paint Shop Pro 10, which is what I'm comfortable in. PS just scares me. :|

haha i was in the same situation before i learned how to use PS. now that i know the basics of PS, i will never turn back to PSP9 :D

@dave: ahh its an astronaut. i was talking about the driver's point of view.

@snugglez: i was thinking about making buttons for a dvd menu for my dvd but pinnacle studio barely co-operates with its own preinstalled images. :|

PS isn't nearly as scary as some people think it is. The interface is intuitive, there are oodles of online resources, and it's just plain fun to play around with.

I wanted a relaxing, blue desktop wallpaper, so I made This. It took about ten minutes, a third of which was just drawing the concentric circles.

this is NOT a website plug, but to see some more of my creations, go to www.geocities.com/nickwebdesignonline and click on 'gallery' then 'juxtapostion' those are quite good images, even if i do say so myself

Those are really good, Spike! I think the second is my favorite. If I might make one suggestion, it would be to blur the edges of the ellipse in the middle of the left side a little.

thanks, you mean smooth out the edge?

edit: hmm yea i know what you mean, i'll focus a gausian blur in there and see if it helps. does anyone else who knows photoshop know of a better way to smooth that out other than do it pixel by pixel or gausian blur? i already blurred the entire thing quite a bit so i rather not do anymore blurring.

Yes, that's what I meant. I'd just go over the edges once or twice with the blur tool and a brush size between 4 and 8. It shouldn't take more than a minute.

Well I'm not the greatest at all of this, I wish I were as good as some of you! I am still just learning and playing around. This is my latest and greatest, I think anyways.

It isn't completely from scratch, I started with a pink floyd image and just used the spectrum of light to create it. And no one will probably notice this till I say it, but in the background is the famous, prism and light.
