I wanted to know how many of us would like the pic in signatures rule repealed. I don't know why this rule is in place so if there's a reason tell me but i'd like pics in my sig.

Pictures in signatures clutters up threads and makes them longer than they have to be, forcing people to scroll past them to see actual content.

I actively avoid forums where threads are as much signature/image as content.

I'm for signature pics, as long as the following options are enabled:

    -Show once per page
-auto re-size on over sized images

This forum can be a little bland (visually) at times because of the lack of personalization.

I do agree that some sites have more pics than posts. I do support a size limit on sigs to limit that problem. But yeah without images it does get a little dull.

the avatar I usually use wouldn't fit into this site. I do have a pic of a computer I could use though but it's too big.

I've got mixed feelings on this one, but I don't mind small sig pics.

... I've enabled it now for mods and active members, so we can give it a try for a couple of weeks and see how it goes :) Please, don't go overboard with big flashing "click the monkey" style pics ;)

doesnt work mate, I cant upload any image, and it says this at the top of the screen too 'Warning: fopen(./signaturepics/sigpic450_1.gif) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in [path]\includes\class_dm_userpic.php on line 373'

also tried a VERY small jpg image, also failed, and i cant be bothered to change this text from bold to normal hahahaa

Would it be a pain in the butt to add a setting to UserCP for disabling viewing sig images? So that if you're not interested in seeing any, you don't have to?

Thanks folks, I'll see what the error is now.

The 500x100 is just a max size, so it can't be wider than 500 px (i.e. no scrolling) and no larger than 100px in height.

I don't know if it's possible to disable sig viewing, but I will check :)
