paragon backup 8.51 didnt restore partition!

    Thought my scary experience might be use to someone:-


    After an unrecoverable XP crash ( my fault for letting Partition
    Manager7 correct? an error on C: ) I tried to restore from a recent
    Paragon archive on an external usb hd with Paragon 8.51 restore CD.

    Didnt recognise the external hd. Eventually got the archive onto the
    computer hd using Ubuntu linux CD.

    Booting with the Paragon restore CD again, restoration started but
    froze after 15min.

    A Google search said the free Paragon Backup & Recovery v 10.2 handled
    old Paragon archives. So made a restore CD from this - using another
    PC.

    Booting with the new Paragon restore CD, it found the archive on the
    ext usb hd and completed the restore --- So All Working Now.
