    I have Nvidia GeForce 2 MX 400

My previous driver was ok till earlier today, when every time I wanted to do anything, I'd get the "blue screen of death" because of my file nv4. Windows told me it was the Nvidia driver and I had to update.

I did on the Nvidia website version 6.6.9.3 (i think) and now I don't get the blue screen of death, but instead, every 5-10 seconds, my screen goes black for about a second/second-and-a-half before returning to the normal screen.

What can I do? It wasn't working with the old driver (not updated since 2002) and it's not working with the new driver!
    Help please!

I downloaded an NVidia GeForce 2 MX update from windowsupdate last night, and everything seemed to be fine until today - no blue screens of death, no black screens for a few secs etc. but when I was watching a video on my Winamp, I got a blue screen spontaneously -

    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL

is what it said - can you help me? This is amazingly frustrating and very bad if it continues to happen because I NEED this computer in the next few weeks.

I downloaded the latest driver from the NVidea website, as well as the Critical Windows Update that was to do with Nvidia GeForce 2 MX cards. I thought that would solve a problem, since MSFT released an update especially for this card, but it's not doing the trick.

I've tried to start the PC MANY times today, and only succeeded once (this time). Usually, when I start it nothing comes up on screen (not even the first bit where you can enter BIOS etc) and I get weird beeping sounds from the tower. My computer's dying.. :(

are you sure you completely uninstalled the old nvidia drivers? search for "driver cleaner". download that and then run that in safe mode to delete all nvidia associated files then try reinstalling the new drivers.
