Bear with me - I am new at this stuff. I have McAfee, and Pestpatrol. keep them update and run scans a lot. Pest patrol finds a lot of adware, which I delete. Recently it found adware plus a 'higjacker' I deleted it all. I am still having a problem while on the internet. When I click on a link to go to a web page, a page is displayed that has "page cannot be displayed" msg, and the address in the bar is - htto://[url="http://www.ads234.com/adView.aspx?requesturl="]www.ads234.com/adView.aspx?requesturl=[/url] following the equal sign is information on the the page I am trying to go to. Well this page stays on the screen for about 10 seconds or so, then the page I am trying to go to usually loads, sometimes it doesn't and I have to either click 'back' or close the page to get back to my original place, then click the link I want to go to, finally I get to my intended destination. Frustrating. Dell has had me remove and reinstall Winsock settings, and I did this, but the problem is still there, just moves a little faster also. I am not sure what to do, and I am new to this stuff. All the sudden, just being on the internet runs very slowly also - takes long time to load anything. I run XP home with sp2, My kids play lots of online games. Have DSL. Help!
