After doing a clean install of Windows XP on a friends laptop I am unable to connect to the internet, because neither the wired NIC or wireless card is being recognized by the OS. The only network devices that appear is a 1394 connection. What can I do to troubleshoot this issue?

Happen to know the make and model of the Laptop in question?

Should be able to download the drivers onto a USB disk from the manufacturer's website, and then install them onto your friends Laptop
