    As the topic states I am looking at trading computer systems with somone. I have been looking at building a desktop so I can play computer games. Getting a gaming laptop is just not worth it and that is sorta what I bought last september. Anyway the trade would go as this

    The system I would be getting;

    2 ATI 5770 graphics cards in Crossfire.
    AMD Phenom II x4 Quad 955 Black Edition processor w/ aftermarket heat sink overclocked to 3.6Ghz
    6 gigs of Mushkin Blackline gaming RAM (I have an extra 2gig stick of the same RAM as well that is not installed)
    2 Samsung 500gig hard drives in RAID0 for super fast loading times + 1 250gig HD for backup
    22" LG LCD monitor
    700watt OCZ Stealth XStream power supply
    ASUS M4A79XTD Evo Motherboard
    Windows 7 Pro (I have the 32-bit AND 64-bit disks and serial key)

    All of those parts equal darn near $2,000 USD. The computer parts itself and the monitor come out to $1726USD
    He would also give me his copies of all the battlefields. Even battlefield bad company 2
    I would trade him this;
    HP Pavilion dv6-1280us laptop and $500 dollars US cash
    My laptops specs;
    2.4GHz AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core mobile processor ZM-87
    16" diagonal HD LED BrightView display with 1366x768 resolution
    6144MB DDR2 memory
    500GB SATA hard drive with ProtectSmart
    LightScribe Super Multi 8X DVD+/-R/+/-RW drive with double-layer support
    802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN
    Bluetooth-enabled
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 M96 with up to 2815MB graphics memory
    Altec Lansing speakers
    SRS Premium Sound
    HP MediaSmart
    Web cam, microphone
    101-key keyboard
    Numeric keypad
    TouchPad
    56K modem
    10/100/1000 gigabit ethernet
    5-in-1 digital media reader: SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro, xD
    Four USB 2.0 ports
    HDMI port
    VGA port
    eSATA+USB 2.0 port
    RJ-11, RJ-45 ports
    Notebook expansion port
    IEEE 1394 port
    Consumer IR port
    Two headphone jacks
    Microphone jack
    ExpressCard slot
    Genuine Windows 7 64-bit OS
    Measures approximately 15" x 10-1/8" x 1-5/8"

    Now for me I believe it is a good deal but I have been outta the loop on building computers for years. Last comptuer i built was a p4 3.0ghz with 1gb of ram and a 9800pro haha. I also think this is a good idea because this laptop is nice but i have had problems with it playing olders games that I want to play and also I'm at the point where a laptop shouldn't be used for gaming and I want to be a Mac Powerbook.

    Now I need your opinions on if I should take the deal now or risk it and wait it out. He listed the computer on ebay as well before we talked about it but he can pull it before the reserve is met which I believe is 1300 and I don't think he will get it

    Here is the link to the ebay auction:

    If the above is considered advertising please remove it mod.

    Anyway I always values your alls opinion and just let me know :) THANKS A LOT THQ

    Talked with the guy on the phone today. He built the machine roughly two-three months ago for gaming. Was playing battlefield bad company 2 and was doing video editing softeware. like a month ago he got the other graphics card and after having it for a week he just decided he really doesn't want to game anymore. Guys married so he was looking for like 1300 for it. I talked to him a couple times through E-mail and I mentioned I was gaming on a laptop and he proposed we could trade my laptop and some cash cause he could still do video editing on it.

    I'm actually thrilled! I don't know a ton about technology but the price of the computer doesn't lie lol. Plus this gives me a chance to get a really nice desktop computer with monitor and all for essentially 500 cash and then I will prob spend 1,000-1,300 on a nice little Macbook and dual boot with Windows but I'm super excited Valve is going Win/Apple/Linux all combined into one playing in the same servers.
    Who wants to help me get a really good deal on a macbook? Are there places ut there where I can get coupon codes to get money off like you can for HP and Dell?

    LOL - Yeah, I'm sure it was "him" who decided that he wasn't going to be gaming any more :p

    Be wary of using discount codes for mac products, I have a few friends who tried this ti 'get a good deal' but ended up getting their fingers burnt.

    If you're still in school or uni and are part of a student union, you can get a student discount from apple. I didnt do this as I got my mac though a production company and they put FCP on it for me. Thank goodness for my Student Loan

    Well currently I am not a student and I doubt they do anything for military. Can you play newer games on your MAC? I really wanted a mac and now that Steam will run on mac,linux and windows I really want one
