BUSINESS owners who have signed national broadband network contracts say
telephone, fax and EFTPOS connections are ´shambolic¡.

Apparently with a copper network you could have a fax, you could have two
or three lines coming in for EFTPOS and your phones, there appears to be
    problems with fibre doing this.

Sounds about as reliable as the POTS network. There is a Telecom bollard
at the end of my street, next to a restaurant. About twice a year some
f-wit in a SUV reverses into it. They tried a concrete block around it
which did not help. Finally they have fitted an ingenious rubber bushing
that limits the damage ... less than a year before it gets replaced by
    the NBN.

It wasn't till 2012 that Telstra was able to get my copper wire fixed.
NEVER worked properly from 1984 when it was put in.
I had "technicians" coming like Mormons to fix it they never could
until I read in local paper lots of others were complaining so Telstra
gave the phone number of the local "service manager" he arrived with a
"picked" technician within 15 minutes it was fixed at least radically
improved. Turns out it was wired wrong

Some years ago Optic was being installed and for over a year it was
problematic also seems Telstra had the wrong software installed in
    some exchanges

Always wary of reading Murdoch media I block their sites in FF with
    add on
Still can easily view their crap in IE if I wish to but I'm warned
    Get FireFox addon here
    Restart FireFox
    Down-load text file
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/50667687/1murdoch block.txt
    In BLOCK SITE options select
    import button
    select the text file
    1murdoch block.txt
select "open" follow prompts (if any)
    all done Murdoch is dead
Q: What has Tony Abbott promised Murdoch?
A: A broadband network that will be so slow as to offer no competition to his pay TV interests.
Mwah ha ha ha !!! Murdochs evil plan is working'
Murdoch used his evil power to get Abbott elected.
Then Murdoch set in motion the destruction of the NBN.
Now all Murdoch has to do is get his Minions to convince Australia that the ABC must go.
Nothing must stand in the way of Foxtel and Newscorp.
    Australia will soon be Murdochs!

I don't even WANT the NBN! I have cable here and, thanks to a thunderstorm blowing the
crap out of a couple of the local pits which resulted in 1 Gigabit amplifiers being
fitted, is more than capable of giving above NBN speeds.
