Malicious internet takeover worm?

    Have an infected computer running winxp. The symptoms, device manger
    shows no network card, IE starts with a url, IE is locked to this url.
    Was not able to get safe mode, but I only had a few attempts.

    Hoping someone may be able to narrow down the possibilities.
