I think they are innacurate for the most part, funny but immature.

Hehe...I do think they are funny, but they do misrepresent a PC a little bit.

I know for a fact that I am seriously considering buying a Mac because I can now run Windows on it.

Dave, I'm actually considering purchasing a MacBook Pro for my next computer upgrade. I would run OS X, Windows Vista and Fedora Core on it. If this is 100% possible, I will most likely go this route and ditch the desktop.

That way I can have all of my tools with me on the road.

Exactly. Have you read anything about the performance of games on a Mac runing Windows XP (or Vista, eventually)? That is really my only concern with running a Windows on a Mac.

No, I'm just starting to research this. I don't care about the Mac OS, but I really like the aestetics of their hardware, they are extremly thing and light for the power underneath.

I really like them. For the most part, the representation of the PC part is true.

I think that they are pretty funny ads.

A Mac can hold its own, but it's not better than all PCs in my opinion.

Well... I don't seem to get any viruses, I don't need foreign languages and I don't want iLife. What they are really trying to sell is their operating system which is another thing I dont want. Oh well. :sigh

They don't literally mean different language such as Japanese. They mean that you don't have to load drivers for each hardware piece you add-on. CNET did a study with benchmarks and such and it showed that the MacBook Pro was the best laptop to run Windows on. Personally, I may get a MacBook after seeing my sisters :drool.

I hate the "elitist" ideal that they are invoking. Now we are going to get a bunch of people who have no idea what the difference between a PC and Mac is and they are going to claim that the Mac is better becuase they know nothing about the problems that Mac has.

I think the commericals are slightly humorous but I hate the cheap and biased attack on PCs.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not Mac hater, I've seen the best and worst of both words.

This seems to have envoked quite a debate. I do think that the ads are a bit harsh towards pcs, I mean I have done a lot of creative work on a pc, but i will be going for a mac mini this summer, as I need a copy of FinalCut, and they only make it for the mac

The commericals on TV are Mac versus PC; not necessarily Mac versus Windows... they advertise their ability to run Windows.

True, but there are very few non-windows based Retail PCs available. And the ones that are available aren't nearly as popular as windows-based computers.

Compatibility, language barriers, viruses: those are all mainly based off of the quaility of an operating system. A virus programed for Windows more or less wont work for a Linux distro. You can get an all around NIC and not have problems except for driver issues. Etc...

They are targeting Windows without mentioning the Windows name. For example, when they talk about Office, Excel and the calculator, they are referring to Windows.
