Long term test of swapping T-Mobile free 200MB/month SIM cards intwo iPads

  1. Tested two iPads on T-Mobile SIM cards given the 200MB/month free
    data plan for the past few months.

    I called T-Mobile to register each iPad's SIM card phone number
    and left the SIM card in place for about two months.

    When one iPad got close to the 200MB data, I swapped out the
    two SIM cards, as a test of whether it would work.

    It worked. For months.

    Finally, about four months (or so) later, the swapped out SIM
    cards both stopped working. They said "No Service" even when
    there was LTE and/or 4G service available based on my cell
    phone signal strength.

    I called T-Mobile, and the support person said she would
    resume the connection (whatever that means) on one of my
    iPads, and, lo and behold, it started working again.

    The SIM cards are still swapped (I only switched them once,
    so, the "wrong" one is in each iPad).
