Just me, or am I being stupid? Quantum CX ATA Warranty

    I have a few Quantum CX drives that I would like to check the warranty
    status of. According to Quantum's homepage, Maxtor have taken over the
    warranty side of things. So, off to Maxtor's site, and come across the
    section where you enter the drive information to check the warranty status.

    http://extranet2.maxtor.com/servlet/WebAdapter?awEventName=WarrantyStatus::WebRequest

    But Quantum hard drives do not have a model in the list, nor HDA, PCBA or
    Uniq. codes. I attempt to enter just the serial number and part number as
    listed in the help section.

    https://maxtor.custhelp.com/cgi-bin...lh_adp.php?p_faqid=743&&p_sid=UERYxiPg&p_lva=

    But I get an error message, saying they couldn't find the model number. I'm
    sure that warranty checker page is exclusively for Maxtor drives.

    Can anyone point me to the correct page for Quantum drives?

    Thanks,

    Marcus

    The page worked for my Quantum drives...
    If the drive has no GTLA number,
    then use the part number, including the dashes and the revision
    letter/number and put it in the space on the form where the GTLA number
    goes.
    Enter the serial number and leave the other boxes blank.
