Joy stick, MIDI and Laptop

OK here goes with the short version.

I have an IBM think pad that I want to connect a joystick
to. Real reason is I want it to control a Behringer DSP8024
digital graphic equaliser. Now the EQ has MIDI in/out that
will connect to a computer **BUT** the "D" plug is a
joystick size and the laptop does not have a sound card as
such that has the Joystick connector. BTW Behringer uses a
program called WinEditor to remotely configure the EQ
devices. My only problem is connectivity.

So "How do I hook up my MIDI cable to this laptop?" Or
"how do I run a Joystick on a IBM laptop?"

Had same issue when using a midi synthesiser on a lappy. there are several
USB to midi adapters on the market. I assume the EQ unit had a standard midi
in port? the adapter should work ok. Most also have midi-in aswell.
