    Nope, Siri works fine.

  2. I have similar instructions for the Porsche. The problem is the newer
versions of OS X won't pair! However, last night I was thinking I might
be able to pair my wife's computer, still running 10.6, and send the
    vCards that way.

Alternately, I may just forget it! As I grow more familiar with the
iPhone I find the way it works with the Contacts list is remarkable and
eventually I will figure out how to use Siri to automate the process.
At that point trying to figure out how to push vCards to the CDR30
    becomes just an intellectual exercise.

  3. Yes. No joy there either.

  4. But it further says,

Activate the download process in CDR, select the desired entries on your
phone and transfer them by Bluetooth®. [How to actually do this is not
    specified].

However, this transfer option is not supported by all phone models. [Ah,
there's the rub. The iPhone may support this but I don't know how to do
    it!]

  5. I have the iPhone paired to the CDR-30 and I am surprised at how good
voice recognition is on the iPhone. I just have to pick it up and say
"Call Mom" and there I am. What could be easier? [I wish my Acura was
    this good.]

There may actually be a way to get my 500+ contacts into the CDR30, but
at this point it would just be an academic exercise.

    who cares.

this is between your phone and the car, not a mac.

what os x does or doesn't do makes no difference.

only the phone matters, and all it needs is pbap, which the iphone has.
    ok.

    the iphone supports pbap. period.

if there's a problem, it's in the cdr.

Yeah, I like it a lot.
Remarkably easy to do. I just say 'Call Jim mobile' and it hardly ever
doesn't work properly. You can even use unique words that you have
put on a particular contact number for the last word too.
I'd use PhoneCopy to put the entire list into a phone that
you know works with the CDR30 and move them that way.

Porsche must know with something as common as an iphone.

Yeah, I normally do voice dial now. Main downside is that it
does do it online so you do use a minimal amount of data.
Cost me just 5c because of the way I pay for data when out
    of wifi range.

Not so good for navigation tho, it has a lot more trouble
with street names. I wanted to go to Waugh St and the
damned thing kept trying to go to the New York Stock
Exchange even tho I am in the wilds of Australia.

And did that repeatedly too. Utterly bizarre.
