    Hello!
We are using Exchange 2003. The server is reachable from the internet vvia a
reverse proxy. Currently the server is down due to a hardware failure. The
reverse proxy is still running, but is not deliering data. Unfortunately
this situation renders the iphotes, connecting to the server, to clear all
    contacts, appointments, mails...
Can anybody explain me why this happens and how to prevent this? Is there
available a description, how the iPhone comminicates with webmail / outlook?
    Greetings from Dresden, Germany!

Our iPhones connect without problems to Exchange Server 6.5 (aka 2003).

    In message <htqkgh$7vq$> "Ulf Kirsten"
This is likely a case of the reverse-proxy returning some bad
    information.

I can tell you conclusively that if I firewall traffic between iPhones
and our ActiveSync server (What iPhone uses in Exchange mode), the
iPhone doesn't lose all data immediately.

Similarly, when Google had it's Calendar and Contacts issues a couple
weeks back their ActiveSync interface was down, and again, data didn't
    disappear.
