I am not a Facebook user and the app has been deleted from my iPhone so
    I cannot verify this.

My son has an Android device and he says the Facebook app has access to
all personal information on the phone such as , Contacts, Messages,
Emails, etc. He says you give it that permission when agreeing to the
    Terms of Service.

    Is this true?

For your reference, records indicate that
    Not true and irrelevant.
It is absolutely true that you should go to an Android newsgroup to discuss Android apps and/or their OS “privacy†policies. It is also true that you could have gone to Google’s Play store and looked up any of Facebook’s apps:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Facebook

to get details on the permissions they demand.

This has nothing to do with iOS or the iOS Facebook app(s).
