I have the icon "My Bluetooth Places" on the desktop of my laptop. It's in the Programs Files/Start Menu, and I don't foresee using it very much at all, so I wanted to delete the icon from the desktop, yet when I right click it, there isn't the option to delete it, or rename or anything. The only things I can do by right clicking are Open, Explore, Run Bluetoth Setup Wizard, Create Shortcut.

Is there a way to get rid of this icon?

I am not sure about this, but you can try using Delete FXP or Pocket KillBox, both of which can be found in our Handy Tools section.

I know both of those programs work great for removing files, but am not sure how well they work for removing icons...

I would suggest the same thing.

Before using that, have you checked the add/remove programs to see if it is a program that you can uninstall?

Nah, don't want to uninstall it since it's like My Network Places, but for Bluetooth devices. Even though I don't foresee using it that much, I probably will down the line and want to keep it.

I'll try your suggestion Dave, thanks.

Did you try highlighting it and hit the delete button?

Try TweakUI. You can hide system icons with it.
