How can i change a hardrive in a portable toshiba sattelite 1730 CDT?

How to open the box (by bottom?) (by top?). Witch components must i remove
    first?

I have not seen this particular model, but AFAIK, you usually do not need to
dismantle a laptop to access the HD.
There is usually a small cover on one of the sides, that is covering the HD
    mounting slot.
The cover will be approx 3 inches (75mm) long, and a half to1 inch (12-25mm)
    high.
AFAIK, there will usually be at least one screw securing this cover.

If the location of this slot is not immediately obvious, take look at the
underside of the laptop, and taking note of the locations of all the larger
internal components, such as the CD Drive, battery, PCMCIA slots, etc it is
pretty easy to narrow down the most likely location of the hard drive
    mounting slot.
