ok, so i'd like to have a table possibly like this:
    HTML:
    <TABLE><TR><TD>Lonk 1<TD>link 2<TD>link3</TABLE>
    etc...
but when you click on one cell, the color will change, and stay that color until i click in another cell, then the first cell's color will revert to it's original.
    any help would be appreciated.
    thanks for any help

You want to cell colors to change when you click on them or that's what's happening now? Your code is kinda bad, this is how it should be:
    HTML:
    <table><tr><td>link 1</td><td>link 2</td><td>link 3</td></tr></table>
