OK now it seems that every time i start the computer it wants to run
scandisk/check disk at boot, only on 2 partitions though. It never
finds and faults but always tries to run on start up. Is there any way
    I can stop this

    TIA

I've seen this caused by the scandisk log being corrupted. Delete the
logs and run scandisk from a boot floppy.

No bloody hell, I'll spell it OUT. Look for a file named scandisk.log;-)

Probably you won't find it but it'll be there, figure it out
