Hi I have a query rearding best practice. the scenario is that I have a remote application which retrives files from a windows server specifying the full UNC for the file (the storage that the windows server is accesing is hosted on a SAN) sometimes the FTP from the remote application fails (the java exit code appears to indicate that the host is not available), if the job is rerun again it usually works. is there any best practice when carrying out this type of activity? is there any timeout settings I could look at on the windows server?
    thanks

sorry worth mentioning the storage is not accessed via a WWID it is presented to the windows server as a share over the network
