I've been installing this software on many of my clients home computers in the last year. Its a great free virus scanner that has all the power of Norton or McAfee without all the annoying paying, and heavy system load. Its called AVG Antivirus and its free for home users. It is VERY up to date, and you can schedule it to get new virus definitions every night. Its very reliable as well. It will do system scans and will scan all incoming email. Also includes an outlook plugin. If nothing else, check this beast out and install it on your clueless aunts computer so she stops asking you to come clean the newest worm off.

AVG isn't too bad. I like it for a free program, although I still prefer Norton. AVG is good for those who don't want to pay the $$.

Well if the PC's are networked than I guess that goes against this " AVG Free Edition CAN NOT BE INSTALLED ON SERVERS FOR ANY REASON. IT CAN NOT BE INSTALLED IN ANY NETWORKED ENVIRONMENT!
    "
as for some alternatives there is The Cleaner ( http://www.moosoft.com ) that I use its the best Anti Trojan / Worm program I know of. Um another AV program I know of that is free would be AntiVir ( http://www.free-av.com/ ) which is pretty good as well. I was just browsing around and found this http://www.freebyte.com/antivirus/
