Has anyone played Far Cry 2 for the PC yet? I've got to wait till Monday before I'll get a chance to pick it up :( Really looking forward to giving it a go though :D

The fact that it isn't a linear progression game really appeals :bouncy

Would love to know what others think if you've already played it :)

I have it, but couldn't play for more than half an hour. The fact that it's not true widescreen but a cropped 4:3 makes the FOV claustrophobic and headache-inducing.

You'd think they would have learned from the Bioshock debacle.

If you want to play on a widescreen monitor, I'd hold of until there's a fix, official or otherwise.

We've been selling it like hotcakes, very popular indeed, but i doubt if my rig can handle it :(

Bioshock has true widescreen now thanks to a patch, so you needn't worry there. There's an unofficial fix for Far Cry 2 now, also.

The issue is that instead of true 16:10, they released the games with a cropped up 4:3 (much the same way that widescreen movies are cropped to fit standard TVs).

The result of this is a claustrophobic, narrow view that feels like the camera's a foot in front of your character.

Yeah BioShock works great with the patch - it's well worth getting, Core :D

I don't often replay games, but I've replayed BioShock twice already as it's just so good :)
