So I have a small project that needs to get done. This is for an entranet. The goal is to embed a media player into the Sharepoint site using multiple video formats mainly because I don't want to convert several gigs worth of video and future video. I stumbled across flowplayer which seems pretty cool but I guess I don't know how to use it that well. Maybe there is an alternative? I think most of the videos are going to be mpeg.

I'm half tempted to just convert all the video into flv to easily use flowplayer but then everyone is going to rely on IT to convert all the videos in the future.

Any thoughts will be happily accepted. :)

Multiple video formats require multiple video players, unless youre using VLC. If its over a network you'd ideally be best converting to .flv and using flowplayer. I use it myself and it has some nice features.

The Flash CS3 video converter is a really nice tool for converting and is pretty easy.

Having multiple formats is a minefield as you will have some users uploading stuff with non-standard codecs, others with corrupt codecs and so forth, others with completely missing codecs
