Do you have a home network?

    I closed the previous thread to keep things updated.

    Here is my setup:
    • Network Hardware
      • Cable internet
      • SMC hardware firewall
      • SMC 16 port switch
      • 3Com OfficeConnect AP (802.11 a/b/g)
    • Servers / Computers
      • One Domain Controller that handles DHCP, DNS, IIS, Active Directory and VPN
      • File server
      • Wireless and wired clients
      • Xbox 360
    Windows Vista has a neat tool that maps your network as you can see in the attachment.

    att dsl ultra
    modem router combo gateway thingy(its all one thing)

    Good idea for a thread :D I never knew about that Network map, but my network is set to "public" so it can't be created apparently.

    I was wondering how you got your wife to go for putting your girlfriend's computer on the network.:shock

    media center pc

    im probably going to use the media center pc as a web server.
    it doesnt get much other use.
    i'll use xampp.
    my media center pc is about to go wireless and i might hook the printer to the old wired connection.
    thats the future for my network

    - Actiontec Modem (provider's)
    - Linksys Router
    - 3 Desktops, wired (2 in regular use, one as render node/NAS)
    - 2 Laptops, wireless--more if there are guests :D
