This appeared this morning. It is disabled. How do I get rid of it as
"remove" is not available and it does not show in uninstall programs in
    control panel?

You look in IE "Tools/Manage Add-ons"?
Little you can do about it but enable/disable another "Microsoft
    feature"
I haven't put "Office 2010" on WIN8.1 yet, although I have the disks

M$ has a way to remove it, but with all M$ ways it does not work. Manage
addons does not give remove for this "feature".

    Getting desperate
But try removing it from "start-up" in CCleaner or whatever

Seems it is a "ActiveX" program
ActiveX controls to run can be done by clicking on the "Tools" menu,
selecting "Internet Options," going to the "Security" tab and changing
the custom level for allowing plug-ins and ACtiveX. Enable ActiveX
    controls
Take care and remember how to undo

    HEALTHY CHIPS (1 serving)
Enough KALE chopped chip size to line large dinner plate
Toss together with extra virgin olive (about desert spoon poured over)
Line plate single layer with chip sized Kale, lightly salt (iodised)
3 minutes in 1000 watt microwave
Should then be crispy and ready to eat with drink (Beer)
