I'm in the process of reinstalling my Epson RX 500 multifunction printer, and I can't get rid of the three files in my ADD/REMOVE program:

    Epson Cardmonitor
    Epson Photostarter
    Espon Scan

The error message I got when I tried to remove it:

"An installation support file could not be installed.
The system cannot find the file specified."

Will I need to dig in the registry, or is there a patch or a utility to deal with this?

    thanks in advance!

Well just install over those files. So go download or get the Epson cd out, and just reinstall. It should replace those automatically. Just sounds like a bad install and the uninstaller didn't get setup right.

Those only work properly if you have that app installed before you install the program you want to uninstall.

I would try what Josh (Fenis) suggested. It sounds like some of the files required to remove the app were deleted.

I managed to remove them manually by going into the Registry. Found the instructions elsewhere and followed it to the letter.

Now I'm having a problem RE-installing one of the program for my printer.....won't let me install as some files are missing (see post "KB 810608...")
