    not looking that much

No google maps app, by far the best of them.
You'll be crying when you do.
    No maybe about it.
So its fucked by design when you have no control over the ringer volume.

Even worse, when the phone set to vibrate, when you do get
an incoming call, you have to manually increase the volume.

Like I said, fucked by design.

  5. I recently bought a Lumia 930, and had the same problem, until I put my
own ring tone on it, and fiddled with the volume settings several times.

When you push the volume up-down button on the side, the setting thing
appears on the screen, with a small down-arrow on the right, which is
astonishingly hard to press. Persevere until you succeed and you will
gain access to two sliders, one "Ringer + Notifications", t'other "Media
+ Apps". Slide them up and down a few times, and you should be able to
    get it loud enough.

And ignore the inevitable morons who will spout off about there not
being any applications for the Windows Phone, I've found all of the ones
I want (except for Garmin Express, but that's not *needed*), and my 11
year-old daughter has found more than enough games to keep here happy -
well, she /could/ have stopped with just Minecraft... :)

And the camera and camera applications are excellent!

    Cheers,
    Gary B-)

No software control for ringtone volume just a updown button
But fixed it recorded my own MP3 at increased volume
Both my Samsung Android and this Nokia phone can be set to both
    vibrate and play ringtone

Seems quite good, there is "software" also available to boost ringtone
    volume?
But APP software is often dodgy unless from reputable websites like
    Microsoft!

But now have a ringtone easily heard just recorded it higher

Don't seem to be virus/malware software for win phones?

Got 'Field Guide to Australian Birds' $30 but seems OK.

Yes the camera 41MP camera is excellent even low light
Just did a snipe for this one 2nd hand but been looked after
