Battery Clicking

    Today, i started hearing these quiet consistent clicking noises coming from my battery. what does it mean?
    The Computer is a Dell Latitude D400

    Batteries do not click, from my experience. Take it out and use the AC, if you still hear the click then it's probably your HDD. If you have an HDD diagnostic test, run it. Your driver CD should actually be bootable and you can run a test on your drive / computer.

    If you didn't know, on most Dell models, you can hold the (i) button (next to power on) before BIOS and it will take you to a diagnostic.

    i tried that, and its definately the battery that is clicking

    Tried what? Please be more specific. If it is the battery, then I would definetly remove it and send it back. It could be shorting and you do not what to fry anything insde your laptop.

    i tried removing the battery, and the clicking stopped
    ill try putting my other battery in, it might be the connectors

    If it is the battery then it is probably shorting, that is what you are hearing, the actual sparks.
