AT&T or Verizon for 4G LTE?

At the risk of flagellating a deceased equine yet again, I'd like to
revisit this debate in light of the new 4G LTE technology. Is one of
these two providers better than the other _technically_?

While AT&T has poor customer service, Verizon seems to delight in
antagonizing its customers. (Remember the $1.99 charge for 'connecting
to the Internet' by accidentally pressing the wrong button on your
iPhone?) Is there any advantage/disadvantage to having the
same/different carrier for your iPhone and iPad? TIA

  2. The only difference that I know of is that when 4G LTE isn't available,
AT&T may offer faster 3G. At least that is what I have read.

also, verizon offers a hotspot while at&t currently does not. maybe
at&t will change that, maybe they won't.
