I can't remember if we've discussed having a proper articles section before, but there is an existing article forum which can be converted to format articles in a better way. Does anyone have an interest in writing guides or doing reviews of hardware/software? If so, I can have a look at getting a proper article system working on the site :)

This would mean there would be a submission forum where an article could be posted and then once it has been ok'd by a mod/admin it would appear on a new articles page for all to read :)

Excellent :D If a couple of other people are also interested I'll get this online next week - in fact I might start working on it today!

Great stuff, I'll work on it this week and get something live soon. I might also add a sidebar to the right hand site of the site so we can add links to articles, similar threads and other things.

no comment, apart from I have said in an inter-dimensional voice that I volunteer.

no seriously, if I find anything of interest, I'll write something up, then approve it myself :) LOL

The article section is now live! :D

Here is an example of one of the articles : https://www.techiehq.net/reviews-and-articles/openoffice-org-2-2-a-7820.html

As an example, I've show how images can be embedded in an article by copying and pasting the attachment URL as an image in to an article. The image should automatically be resized and place in the article : https://www.techiehq.net/reviews-and-articles/microsofts-antispyware-7237.html

At the moment, only mods can create new articles but I will make a submission section where all users can post articles for submission. Once approved (to stop spammers), it can then be moved to the article section. :)

I can see that there is 9 Articles from the catagory page.

But when I click on "Reviews & Articles", I don't see the 9 Articles listed.

That really had me confused for a while! It was because the default thread cut-off was set to 1 year in your account - I'll see if this is a global setting for new users.
