Antec P180B HD Indicator LED Keeps Blinking

I recently built a new system (Intel Bad Axe, Antec P180B, etc). I have two
Seagate SATA 300GB HDs and the HD indicator LED keeps dimly blinking even
when my antivirus program is disabled. When the HD is being used, the LED
gets brighter. Do you think the LED is faulty or is there something else
    going on?

Update: When I go to the BIOS setup screen, the LED doesn't emit light. So,
    I don't think it's faulty. BTW, I'm using XP Pro SP2 (a clean OS
    installation).

Thats normal, its just XP, nothing to worry about.

You'll find you dont get it if you boot a linux live CD like knoppix.

What the hell is the indexing service:)???? Do I need it? It's time to
    google it.

Do you and Johns talk rubbish for a living?
It's not normal for XP at all. The 2 XP boxes (and all the others I've
built) we have here don't do this.
XP only usually does that if the indexing service is turned on, the o/p just
needs to go into administrative tools/services and turn it off.

No need to ask if you are a silly little terminal fuckwit thats
never ever had a fucking clue, the answer is obvious.
Yes it is, its just not that visible on some HD leds.
    Bet you do.
And its on by default, fuckwit. For a good reason, fuckwit.
Only terminal fuckwits are actually that stupid. You qualify.

FWIW, on my Antec case the HD led also blinks very dimly when idle. I do
not have Indexing Service, nor an other desktop search tool. I do have
the FolderSize Service running, but the led did it before that. I am
running Intel ICH5 RAID. I suspect it may be the raid, or the led simply
flickers. I have not checked if it flickers while in the bios setup
    screen, I'll try that next...

I've disabled indexing services on my 2 PCs built with Antec cases (P180B &
Sonata). Both are running XP Pro SP2 and both LEDs **still** blink dimly
even when the PCs are idle. The Sonata houses an Intel D865 motherboard and
the P180B an Intel D975XBX. I guess it's either Intel boards' LED connectors
    or Antec's LEDs.

Don't worry about it. The LED in the Antec case is probably just more
sensitive is all. Do you hear the HDD being accessed when the light blinks?
Probably not. My HDD LED light on my Antec Lanboy case also blinks but
there is nothing going on for me to be worried about.

Since my HDs are so quiet, I had to open my Antec cases and listened to the
HDs. I swear nothing was going on with the HDs when the LED was blinking.
When the HD were being accessed, the LED becmae bright. So, maybe, Antec
    LEDs are more sensitive.

FWIW, I checked my system when in the bios setup screens, and no HD led
flickering at all. I also booted into memtest86+ on floppy and it doesn't
flicker either. Only in XP apparently. So, I'd guess that the driver is
communicating w/ the controller in the HD periodically, not for data
    exchange but just for status.

my sys in a nutshell: intel 865 w/ ICH5 SATA RAID 0. Been very stable
for a couple of years. [jinx jinx jinx!]. And it has flickered since then
too, I do remember asking about it way back when and the response was as
    now: don't worry about it...
