So, I'm looking to buy a laptop (15-16") that I would be using for:

    -Internet
-Movies [Blu-ray or DVD player not required]
    -Music
    -Work

In terms of design and performance, which of these brands/lineups would be best for my uses?

    The Dell Studio 15 series
    The Lenova Thinkpad T series
    The HP Pavilion series
    The Toshiba Tecra series

Which one of these would be the best and luckiest (reliability, noise, fan, heat, customer support, etc.)

And if there are even better lines/brands, please let me know.

    Thanks for all the help!!

    Asus Republic of Gaming series!

Great warranties, standard quality laptop parts makes it easy and cheaper for break/fix.

    Manufacturer Warranty (for above laptop)
Accidental Damage Warranty 1 year ASUS Accidental Damage Warranty - Drops, Fire, Spill, Surge
    Parts 2 years limited
    Labor 2 years limited

They have other models, but the only draw back is Asus doesn't sell their laptops, you have to buy them from a third party company like Newegg so you cannot custom build. Though they do have a fair amount of builds.
