Am currently using Backup Exec V8.5 on a Windows 2000 Server system
backing up to a 40GB DLT tape.

Is it possible to assign a separate hard disk drive on the same
machine as a backup device in lieu of a tape drive device? Where in
the menu system would I find this? Tnx es 73!

  2. Hi,
I can give you the information for version 8.6.
    1. Devices---Backup to Disk Folders, rightclick, New Backup Folder etc.
    2. Media----User Media Sets, New Media Set etc.
    3. Job Definitions--- Properties of a job, General, Destination...

I hope this helps you, but my manual is in the office, and i
have only the manger at home

    bye

Thanks, Crhistoph, for your response. I have since discovered that
V8.5 does not support Backup-to-Disk. So I have two choices: Upgrade
to current version of Backup Exec or use Windows Backup. The former
is price prohibitive at present, so I guess I will go with the latter.
