Zune or iPod?

My current/last MP3 player is starting to show its age and use as it is not holding the music after a day which is odd.

I'm not the look for a new player that as a larger capacity and more functions. I want something that is built tough, has options, etc.

I'm in the same situation, my CD-player in my car is not working, the lift motor has failed.

I am contemplating on a 4GB iPod nano or the 30GB Zune- they are both priced around the same tag I'm looking at $200. I am leaning towards the Zune because:
  • More space
  • AM/FM Radio
  • Big screen
  • Customizable
  • Looks better then the iPod (IMO)
  • Much more durable from what I've seen with friends that have both

I have a 30GB iPod. I like the interface that the iPod uses more than most MP3 players on the market right now. Also, to comment on the durability of the iPod, it is very durable. I work at a golf course and have it banging around in this hot, little black compartment on the mower and I have never had a problem with it.

Personaly I like the Creative players, the Zens offer what most of the iPod offers and some features of the Zune as well. (and they look cool )

I love the iPods-they're great players. The video iPods are even better-you can transcode videos down to fit on their screen and they look great.

I had a Zen when I had an MP3 player and I loved it.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I've been playing around with a friend's Zune and am really leaning towards that because it's so durable, he's a clutz and it still looks like it's new out of the box.

My iPod (30G old non-video version) doesn't save data anymore. I was thinking I may get a Zune to replace it as well... or I'll just start using my PSP as my music system...

Sorry to bring up an old dead post. My questions are:

-Can I take Movies I already own (have them on DVD) and make them work on the Ipod or Zune?

-Will Itunes work with a Zune?

One of my main concerns is that I wont be able to find enough programs that are designed for the Zune.

Peoples opinions or stories about each of these products. I am looking at an 80gb zune or 80gb video. There both currently running at 250 bucks

No on using iTunes with the Zune.
Yes on fitting DVD's-On the Mac Popcorn will do all your transcoding for you, or Handbrake.
Get the iPod Touch-they're amazing.
