Wireless Network

NOTE: I have no clue how to network or do anything related to networking.

In my house we will have three computers soon, all three in different rooms, but two will be on the same floor. I was wondering if there was a way to network them wirelessly and be able to go through the same DSL connection on the network. (I am getting sick of this 28k)

Links, help, and critisism for my lack of knowledge will help.

Thanks once again

Yep, you can do this easily. I recommend a SMC wireless router along with SMC wireless cards.

There are different types of wireless ranges, 802.11 b, a and g. B being the oldest and slowest, but most stable (11-22mb p/s), A the next fastest, and G being the newest and fastest.

First you have to decide what's right for your needs. You have to keep in mind that with wirless, your data exposed a lot more then what it would be if you were using CAT5 cabling. There are a lot of different security methods. The best that I've found for home users is the only allow certain MAC address' to access your Access Point. That way, if someone is outside your house with thier laptop, they will not have access to your LAN becuase their MAC address is on your "accepted" list.
