I know that I can add titles and such before or after a selected scene but how do you add the text to a selected scene? It doesnt have to fade in but that would be the most desirable effect for me. I tried adding text to the photos in paint and then playing them in order but it looks awful and you can't read the words.

the text will become an overlay. i really haven't done much editing with movie maker but i based on all the editing programs i've used, the overlay should be a video clip with text and a transparent background. you can apply the fade in transistion to the overlay as you would with the actual video clip.
i hope you understood that. if not, then i will try to provide screenshots.
@nickweb, yea it was paint and i fully agree that its the worst program for picture editing :p
i was not in the mood to fire up photoshop to do something that takes the time of the startup time of photoshop.
edit: ruslan, do not add the text by editing the picture if you want the fade in effect.
