So I have a lot of Vertical pinkish/purple lines all over my screen. All I did today was remove the heatsink off my cpu and gpu due to excessive dust, dusted, reapplied the grease and heatsinks. Is there anything I can possibly do to fix my card? Or is it just going to die? :'(

Sounds like the video card is overheating. You might try removing the heatsink again, removing all the thermal compound, and re-applying it--make sure you don't use too much.

Quick Update:

It has stopped artifacting. Should I be worried?

I know software monitored temps are not that accurate but I look at them for a general monitoring process, and the temps being pulled up for my gpu were where they were normaly. :S

I f the problem is intermittent, check that the card is seated properly. Otherwise, take it back to the store for an exchange.

I did see if it was seated properly, and I'm pretty sure it is.

Return it? Its my X800XT, its at least a year old now, with an aftermarket HSF on it

Weak sauce!!

<---X850pro

Check your heat sink then. A bubble in the thermal grease could cause problems. I used arctic silver 5 for mine

You know I could just overclock my card too right?

If its still over clocked, turn down the thing a bit!
