[tweak] If you have XP, get this

EDIT: Just a warning, this does not function well with SP2 and MS does not support it anymore.

If you have either Windows XP Home or Pro then this may interest you...

Using MS BootVis you will benefit from these features:
  • Boot loader improvements
  • Operating system boot improvements
  • Operating system hibernation improvements
  • Operating system standby resume improvements
How to use:
  • Open bootvis | go to Trace | Next boot + drive delays | numbers of reps | 3 | click Ok.
  • After the 3rd time, go to Trace | Optimize system.
BootVis

well I guess when you have a complete reboot time of 1min anything less is unnoticable, if you guys notice a difference, thats great, nothings worse than waiting for the computer to reboot

It takes about 20 seconds now for me to boot up. before, it took around 50 seconds. So, it does work pretty good if you tweak with the settings.

I installed it once and I didnt like how it installed a bunch of files directly into C:\ I moved it into C:\Program Files so it looked cleaner, and boom, It wouldnt boot for anything

it just kept rebooting, I couldnt even use the Recovery cd or boot into safe mode.

So Im scared to install that program again.

First post.

In a few months I will probably upgrade to a P4 3GHz.
